STIRLING
We have planned an incredible day exploring...
- Stirling Castle - This castle guarded the lowest crossing point of the River Forth for centuries. Today it remains a great symbol of Scottish independence and national pride. It also houses the Unicorn Tapestries.
This castle is so much fun to visit! There are fabulous guides in costume who will happily answer any of your questions!
- The Wallace Monument - commemorating Scottish hero Sir William Wallace, standing where he won the Battle of Stirling Bridge, and housing his legendary Wallace Sword. There are panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
- The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor's Center -A fabulous centre where you can immerse yourself in the award-winning Battle of Bannockburn experience as you witness a digitally re-created version of the battle, up close. Find out how warriors, pages, knights and civilians on either side of the conflict became involved and what role they played.

THE CAIRNGORNS NATIONAL PARK
This will be a highlight for sure!
We are going to meet up with a local expert who will educate us about glacial landscapes, ecology and the rewilding of Scotland. He will take us on a guided hike where we will forage and learn to identify local flora and fauna. We will then visit the centre of the organization The Alba Explorers, where they are working to grow over 200,000 local species trees. After some time spent volunteering with this amazing group, we will then be treated to a traditional meal and a live Ceilidh - a Scottish dance!!!
